So the Can is closed. A few bits and pieces to tidy up, and it will be a memory. A legend. The talk at dinner parties for years to come. It was a whole lot of things for us, but I’m going to leave it at awesome.

So what now?

For TBC and her fam – Well I have this awesome job. It might only be mine for a little while, but I’m jumping in and giving it a red hot go while it’s in my hot little hands. And our family is breathing.

Handmade Cans

What for the Handmade Can brand? Well, who knows. I want it to live on. I want it to continue growing the local business world. However, it’s not my journey now. Watch this space.

In order to not see it die, let’s use the brand/social media/blog to sell up and share the word on local business. Shoot me a message and let me know who to blog about. In fact – blog it for me, add a few pics, and I’ll post it on up for you!!!

I’ll start!

So, after the hideous shop  pack up – the fucking rain made it miserable, and the heat made me almost self combust.. my skin was dying and I needed a pamper sesh desperately. So I booked it in.  And made it happen. Happy New Year end to me!!

You might remember around the FNQ Handmade Industry Awards – pulled together my the delightful Joey from Sweet Florence, I was dressed and decorated by local business – to promote them. Delvine – my gorgeous dress I really need to wear again, Crystaleyes Jewellery by Design – Karen – did my bling. Ang at Wyld Ginger Hair Designers did my GORGEOUS hair – which reminds me – I need a new haircut… Ang hook me up sister? And last, and def not least, Siv from Izbits World did my make up!

Well Honey Tan and Wax was my go to for the tan. I did NO prep work (not recommended) and just turned up for the tan. And I felt mega sexy. It was the perfect colour. Lasted forever. I glowed! And it’s so true – brown fat is WAY hotter than white fat!!!!!!

Anyhoo – so I was doing a search online, and made the decision to book on in for a facial with Honey to test them out. Also, I had to pop to the shop and do a last trip, so I could combine it.

Well. Best decision ever. The facial was divine. An hour of bliss. And a hand/arm/scalp massage. My skin felt amazing after. And just $75 – it was a bargain!  I repeat! Best facial ever!

Now, I have a few other facial favourites – around town so you have lots of choices! Serenity at the Avenue  at Edge Hill has always been high on my list. The day spa combo with the deep bath, wine, then massage or facial – SUPERB! Refresh City Day Spa is another winner. And they feature Eden & Wade‘s amazing work in their foyer!

Meet Chester – I think he would look great at your place. And then I could come over, sit and drink wine on it while we chat. Do it. Contact the girls. Drop our name. 😉

Then, I went off to Noa. The new menu by Justin – who incidentally is the brother of a girlfriend of mine.. we met on a mother’s group when I was preggers with Blake. And she lives in Brissy.. How small is this world? Really?

The company was fantastic – however – binge drinking and those gals seem to go hand in hand. Anyhoo – luckily Noa had booze and plenty of it.

The new tapas menu is DIVINE! Well worth popping in – and if you are a little povo – go during happy hour! Do it. Be seen. Drink bubbly wine. Eat Tapas. Live a little!

If we are facey friends, you have prolly seen the photo’s. Seriously. Saved me getting drunk on NYE!!!!!! ❤

Now, over to you! Which local business do you love? Got some pics? A story? Tell it to us! Let us share your blog! And share ours please!!

Let’s love local. Keep the doors open. Keep them trading. We can’t survive on chain stores alone….

Peace out
